Parkstead Sales
Privacy policy
How we handle your information when you browse our website or get in touch about a caravan.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Who is responsible for your information?
Parkstead Sales is responsible for personal information it receives when handling your enquiries. For privacy questions or requests, contact us using the email, telephone or postal details shown in the website footer.
Information we receive
If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number and the details you provide about your caravan, including its make, model, age, condition, asking price and any photographs you send.
Our website hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information and requests to keep the website available and secure.
Please do not include bank details, identity documents or other sensitive personal information in an initial enquiry.
How the enquiry form works
The sell your caravan form prepares a message in your own email app. Your enquiry is not sent to us until you send that email. The website does not save your form details to an enquiry database.
Selecting a photograph does not upload it to us. Attach it to your email yourself if you wish to share it. Your email provider processes messages under its own privacy terms.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry details to reply, discuss a valuation, arrange a viewing and take steps towards a purchase or sale at your request. The lawful basis for this is taking steps before entering into a contract, or performing a contract once agreed.
We may also use information for legitimate interests such as keeping the website secure, managing correspondence and handling complaints, provided those interests do not override your rights. We use information where necessary to meet legal obligations, including any applicable accounting requirements.
Sending an enquiry is not consent to marketing. Any marketing that requires your consent would need a separate choice.
Sharing and international processing
Information may be processed by service providers involved in hosting, email delivery or professional advice, or disclosed where the law requires it. We do not sell your enquiry details.
Providers may process information outside the UK. Where Parkstead Sales arranges a restricted transfer, it must use appropriate safeguards under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections. You can ask us for details of the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Keeping information safe and how long we keep it
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or email service can guarantee complete security.
We retain enquiry information only for as long as needed to respond and manage any resulting transaction, complaint or legal obligation. Retention depends on the purpose and any applicable legal requirements. You can ask us about the retention period for your information.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of use or transfer of information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and can withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Contact us to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity and will normally respond within one month, subject to the exceptions and extensions permitted by law.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. You do not have to contact us first.
Cookies, fonts and links
Our cookie policy explains browser storage and your choices. This website loads Outfit and Figtree fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser sends Google technical request information, including your IP address, when fetching those fonts. This is separate from optional analytics cookies.
Other websites you visit through a link have their own privacy notices. We may update this policy when our services or practices change.
